Der Generalbuchprüfer soll im September einen umfassenden Rechenschaftsbericht zu den Corona-Ausgaben der Regierung vorlegen. Das berichtet die Nachrichtenagentur Nampa unter Berufung auf anonyme Quellen. Zuletzt hatte es Kritik an dem N$ 8,1 Milliarden schweren Konjunkturpaket der Regierung gegeben. Wirtschaftsexperte Omu Kakujaha-Matundu hatte bemängelt, dass in Wirklichkeit gerade einmal rund ein Viertel davon in die Wirtschaft geflossen seien. Premierministerin Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila wiederum versicherte, dass die Regierung über jeden Cent Rechenschaft ablegen werde. Das schließe auch die zahlreichen Spenden im Kampf gegen die Pandemie in Namibia mit ein.
