Die Weltbank rechnet weiterhin mit einem robusten namibischen Wirtschaftswachstum. In ihrem „Africa Pulse Report“ für Oktober teilte diese mit, dass die Wirtschaft dieses Jahr um 2,8 Prozent wachsen wird. Damit liegt die Schätzung 0,1 Prozentpunkte unter der von April. Angetrieben wird das Wirtschaftswachstum vom Bergbausektor. Insgesamt werde in Afrika dieses Jahr die Wirtschaft um 3,3 Prozent wachsen. Somit sei in Namibia ein leicht unterdurchschnittlicher Trend zu verzeichnen. Erst gestern hatte der Internationale Währungsfonds IWF bekanntgegeben, dass man für Namibia mit einem BIP-Wachstum von 3 Prozent in diesem und 3,2 Prozent im kommenden Jahr rechne.
