Ex-Gesundheitsminister Bernard Haufiku hat im Zusammenhang mit einer weiteren Corona-Welle auch in Namibia vor einer „Pandemie der Ungeimpften“ gewarnt. Der New Era sagte Haufiku, dass die vierte Welle Namibia noch schlimmer als die vorherige treffen werde, sollten sich die Menschen nicht impfen lassen. Gleichzeitig war er der Regierung vor, durch die Problematik rund um den Sputnik-Impfstoff Verschwörungsmythen unterstützt zu haben. In Namibia gelten nach wie vor nur rund elf Prozent der Gesamtbevölkerung als vollständig geimpft. Zuletzt hatte das Ministerium kaum mehr als 1000 Impfungen pro Tag vermeldet.
