Die Inflation ist im Januar auf 4,6 Prozent gestiegen. Das teilte die Statistikbehörde NSA heute mit. Das ist der höchste Stand seit drei Jahren. Erneut trugen in erster Linie der Transportsektor und die hohen Lebensmittelkosten zum Anstieg der Teuerungsrate bei. Dem Transportsektor machen weiterhin die steigenden Spritpreise zu schaffen. Bei den Lebensmitteln verteuerten sich vor allem Früchte, Öle und Fleisch. Am deutlichsten bekommen die Bewohner der Landesmitte den Anstieg der Preise zu spüren. Für die Khomas-Region wurde im Januar eine Inflation von 5,3 Prozent verzeichnet.
