Der Hauptverdächtige im Millionen-Raub in einer Bankfiliale in Opuwo hat in dieser Woche Kaution beantragt. Das berichtet die Namibian Sun. Nico Rebebe erschien demnach am Mittwoch vor dem Magistratsgericht der Ortschaft. Dabei beantragte er auch einen Pflichtverteidiger. Sein Kautionsantrag soll am 8. April gehört werden. Dem Bericht zufolge sind mit ihm insgesamt 14 weitere Personen angeklagt. Rebebe wird vorgeworfen, ohne Autorisierung insgesamt rund N$ 200 Millionen auf verschiedene Konten überwiesen zu haben. Der entstandene Schaden betrug laut Angaben von Bank Windhoek letztlich aber nur knapp unter N$ 2 Millionen. Er war nach einer mehrwöchigen Flucht schließlich Anfang März festgenommen worden.
