Die Kosten für die private Krankenversorgung in Namibia sind zwischen 2005 und 2021 um 320 Prozent gestiegen. Dies geht aus einer nun veröffentlichten Studie der Namibischen Wettbewerbskommission NaCC hervor, berichtet The Brief. Demnach lagen die Pro-Kopf-Ausgaben 2005 noch bei 5400 Namibia Dollar pro Jahr. 16 Jahre später waren es 21.500 Dollar. Die Studie wurde angelegt, um mögliches wettbewerbsverzerrendes Verhalten zu untersuchen. Ein solches könne aber auf Grundlage der Informationen nicht nachgewiesen werden, heißt es dazu. Die Krankenkassen hätten signifikante Gewinne gemacht. Unklar sei aber, inwiefern dies den Mitgliedern zugutegekommen ist.
