Einwohner der Sambesi-Region sind aufgefordert, sich auf drohende Sturzfluten einzustellen. Durch die heftigen Regenfälle sei die Region in höchster Alarmbereitschaft, so Gouverneur Lawrence Sampofu laut dem Namibian. Der Pegel des Sambesi steige bereits, Familien in Überschwemmungsgebieten seien aufgefordert, sich in höher gelegene Gebiete zu begeben. Auch Vieh sollte nach Möglichkeit bereits vom Fluss weggetrieben werden. Das Wetteramt hat derweil vor anhaltend starken Niederschlägen für den Nordosten des Landes gewarnt.
