Der Schlachthof in Oshakati muss wegen der schlechten Auftragslage mehr als 40 Angestellte entlassen. Der Geschäftsführung des namibisch-chinesischen Management nach, sei der Schritt ausweislich, berichtet der Namibian. Erst vor einem Jahr hatte dieses die Unternehmensführung des staatlichen Schlachthofes übernommen. Die Entscheidung sei endgültig und die betroffenen Arbeiter würden bis Ende Oktober bezahlt werden, heißt es von der Geschäftsführung. Dr namibische Partner KIAT sprach hingegen von „Planungen“. Vielmehr würde die Angestellten weiter bezahlt werden ohne zu arbeiten. Auch Wasser und Strom sei vorerst zur Kostenreduzierung abgestellt worden.
