Der Vorsitzende der namibischen Fischereisektor-Vereinigung, Matti Amukwa, hat erneut dazu aufgerufen, dem Phosphatabbau vor Namibias Küste eine Absage zu erteilen. Der New Era nach bezeichnete er die Studien, des in der vergangenen Woche vorgelegten Umweltgutachtens von Namibia Marine Phosphate, als „dubios“. Der Abbau dürfe nur genehmigt werden, wenn wirklich unabhängige wissenschaftliche Studien eine Unbedenklichkeit bescheinigen würden. Dies gehe aber weltweit praktisch aus keiner ernsthaften Studie hervor. Die friedliche Koexistenz von Fischerei und Phosphatabbau müsse einwandfrei dargelegt werden.
