Das australische Explorationsunternehmen Deep Yellow hat eine weitere Uran-Probebohrungen am Rande der Namib erfolgreich abgeschlossen. Dies teilte das Unternehmen in einer Erklärung mit. Demnach seien Vorkommen in den 266 Meter tiefen Bohrloch gefunden worden. Die Explorationsfunde werden nun in der Phase 2 weiter intensiviert, heißt es von Deep Yellow. Ab dem 24. Januar sollen zehn Löcher bis zu 2,5 Kilometer tief gebohrt werden. In einer ersten Phase wurde in 13 von 14 Bohrlöchern mit einer Tiefe von bis zu 3,5 Kilometer Uranvorkommen nachgewiesen. Das Explorationsgebiet Barking Gecko North befinden sich an der C28 östlich von Swakopmund.
