Simbabwe wird eigene Truppen nach Mosambik zur SADC-Mission entsenden. Bloomberg berichtet, dass mehr als 300 simbabwische Soldaten in der Unruheprovinz Cabo Delgado stationiert werden sollen. Sie unterstützen unter anderem SADC-Truppen aus Südafrika und Botswana sowie auch aus Ruanda. Namibia hatte eine finanzielle Unterstützung zur Mission in Aussicht gestellt. Erste Erfolge konnten Truppen aus Ruanda und die heimische mosambikanische Armee bereits gegen die islamistischen Terroristen feiern. So wurden wichtige Stützpunkte in den letzten Tagen erobert.
