Die namibische Wirtschaft ist im dritten Quartal des Jahres um 4,3 Prozent gewachsen. Das gab die Statistikagentur NSA bekannt. Positive Zahlen verzeichneten dabei vor allem Bergbau und Einzelhandel sowie das herstellende Gewerbe. Ausschlaggebend dafür war in erster Linie die gesteigerte Diamantenproduktion. Umgekehrt gab es teils deutliche Rückgänge in der Landwirtschaft, im Bausektor und bei Finanzdienstleistungen. Das Bruttoinlandsprodukt stand im dritten Quartal bei N$ 50 Milliarden. Im Jahresvergleich entspricht das einem Anstieg von über N$ 4 Milliarden.
