Die Namibierin Maxi Pia Louis vom Community Leaders Network hat Großbritannien des Neokolonialismus beschuldigt. Laut der britischen Zeitung „The Guardian“ ist der Anlass ein neuer Gesetzesentwurf, der Trophäenimporte nach Großbritannien verbieten soll. Pia Louis richtet sich dabei direkt an den britischen Umweltminister Zac Goldsmith und den Comedian Ricky Gervais, der sich besonders für ein Ende der Trophäenjagd einsetzt. Sie hebt vor allem hervor, dass Afrikaner nicht mit in die Debatte einbezogen werden, wobei diese direkt von der Entscheidung betroffen sind. Erst Anfang des Jahres haben Experten gewarnt, dass ein solches Trophäen-Einfuhrverbot den Schutz verschiedener Tierarten gefährden könnte.
