Der Staat gibt weiterhin zu viel Geld für die falschen Dinge aus. Dies ist die Reaktion von Volkswirtschaftler Robert McGregor auf den vergangene Woche vorgestellten neuen Staatshaushalt, berichtet New Era. Die Regierung habe den Blick für notwendige Ausgaben, um die gesteckten Ziele der Vision 2030 und des 2. Harambee-Wohlstandsplans zu erreichen, aus dem Fokus verloren. Es werde weniger investiert und immer mehr für Schuldentilgung und Staatsgehälter ausgegeben. Zudem seien erneut fast sechs Milliarden Namibia Dollar für ein ohnehin schon aufgeblasenes Militär vorgesehen. Einzig die Diamantenindustrie trage die Ausgaben des Staates. Sie soll in diesem Jahr um mehr als ein Fünftel wachsen.
