Das Landwirtschaftsministerium hat vor weiteren Regenfällen in Angola gewarnt. Für die Regionen Ohangwena, Oshana und Omusati wurden Notfallpläne aktiviert und die Bewohner vor möglichen Überschwemmungen gewarnt. Das Efundja genannte Flutphänomen hatte Namibia Anfang Januar erreicht. Mindestens eine Person kam bisher in den Wassermassen ums Leben. Oppositionsführer McHenry Venaani forderte derweil wirtschaftliche Hilfspakete für die betroffenen Personen im Norden des Landes.
