Die Zahl der Mobilfunkkunden des größten Betreibers MTC sind im zweiten Quartal deutlich um sechs Prozent gesunken. Dies geht aus dem aktuellen Statistikbericht der Kommunikationsregulierungsbehörde CRAN hervor. Dies sei vor allem aber der Neueinstufung geschuldet, wonach nur noch Kunden als aktiv gelten, die binnen 30 Tagen ihre SIM-Karte nutzen. Zuvor betrug dieser Zeitraum zwei Monate. Auch die Nutzung der Mobilfunktelefone war zwischen April und Juni deutlich um fast 50 Prozent rückläufig. Um 26 Prozent zurückgegangen ist die Anzahl der privaten Festnetzanschlüsse im Land.
