Die COVID19-Pandemie hat den Staat bisher 1,1 Milliarden Namibia Dollar gekostet. Dies teilte Gesundheitsminister Kalumbi Shangula gestern der Nationalversammlung mit. Etwa 20 Prozent hiervon seien auf zusätzliche Personalkosten entfallen. Ein Großteil der Ausgaben sei für Impfstoff vorgesehen. Zudem habe der Ausbau von Krankenhäusern und Isolationsstationen und die Anschaffung medizinischer Gerätschaften zig Millionen verschlungen. Mehr als 130 Millionen Dollar seien in den Ausbau der Testkapazitäten und die Coronatests selber geflossen
