Das Ministerium für Staatsunternehmen wird aufgelöst. Dies bestätigte Minister Leon Jooste übereinstimmenden Medienberichte nach. Demnach soll das Ministerium als Abteilung im Finanzministerium aufgehen. Erst 2015 mit Amtsantritt von Staatspräsident Hage Geingob gegründet worden. Nach einem jahrelangen Schwebezustand aufgrund von Gesetzesproblemen, wurde es schlussendlich für alle wirtschaftlich agierenden Staatsunternehmen zuständig. Unter anderem fiel die geordnete Insolvenz von Air Namibia in den Aufgabenbereich. Die Auflösung des Ministeriums soll drei bis vier Monate dauern.
