Hitradio Namibia Meine Musik. Mein Sender.
Wissenschaftler aus Namibia und Mosambik arbeiten gemeinsam an der Nutzung indigenen Wissens im Kampf gegen drei Infektionskrankheiten. Dies teilte die namibische Kommission für Wissenschaft und Technologie NCRST mit. Ziel sei es, Behandlungsansätze im Kampf gegen Malaria, Tuberkulose und COVID19 zu finden. Finanziert werde das Projekt durch die international „Science Granting Council Initiative“ mit aktuell knapp 1,4 Millionen Namibia Dollar. Zwei Universitäten in Mosambik sowie die UNAM arbeiten an dem Projekt. Derzeit sei man mit der wissenschaftlich und labortechnischen Identifizierung von Heilpflanzen beschäftigt, die gegen Malaria helfen könnten. Das Projekt soll in knapp einem Jahr abgeschlossen werden.
