Das Umweltministerium hat weitere Festnahmen von Verdächtigen im Zusammenhang mit den jüngst gewilderten Nashörner vermeldet. Einer Erklärung nach seien nun insgesamt elf Personen im Umfeld des Etosha-Nationalparks festgenommen worden. Es handelt sich um Männer im Alter von 19 bis 45 Jahren. Zudem seien Waffen, Munition und Fahrzeuge sichergestellt worden. In älteren Fällen der Nashornwilderei, unter anderem aus dem Jahr 2018, konnte festgenommenen Verdächtigen nun eine direkte Beteiligung durch DNA-Tests nachgewiesen werden. Sie müssen sich teilweise bereits ab morgen vor Gericht verantworten.
