Die namibische Handelsbilanz hat sich im April deutlich verschlechtert. Die Exporteinnahmen gingen um über ein Drittel zurück. Die Importe wiederum sanken nur leicht. Das Handelsdefizit stieg im April dadurch auf N$ 3,3 Milliarden. Die meisten Importe kamen zuletzt aus Südafrika, gefolgt von Indien und China. Der größte Markt für Exporte war im April erneut Südafrika, gefolgt von Botswana und Frankreich. Dabei waren Diamanten, Fisch und Uran die wichtigsten namibischen Handelsgüter.
